Bulk Exporting Your Data to Google Sheets
Bulk Operations
Bulk operations are a way to send records to Google Sheets in bulk. Rather than using realtime sync which simply reacts to Shopify events, such as a product being updates, bulk operations allow you run an export against a filtered set of data.
To run a bulk operation, be sure your workflow is set to run a bulk operation and is not configured for realtime sync.
Enabling Bulk Operations for Your Workflow
1. Click to edit the trigger settings.
2. Select "Run in a bulk operation" and click "Save".
3. The trigger should now be shown as "Run in a bulk operation".
Running a Bulk Operation
Go to the "Bulk Operation" tab. There you will see a section for Filters at the top, and example items that match your filters below.
You can enter any search text to filter your items. Under "Advanced" are more specific filters.
Example: adding an advanced filter by "title".
You can add multiple filters that will show up here.
Click "Save Filters" if you want the filters to be permanently saved for the workflow.
TIP: Adding filters to only export a limited amount of data can greatly increase export speed. For example, rather than having a condition on the workflow to check if a product title contains "Shirt", it is more effective to add a bulk operation filter that will only attempt to export products with a title containing "Shirt". If you have any questions or concerns about exporting a large amount of data please reach out to our support team.
Next, select the checkbox so that all items in the list are selected.
Then, if you want to run the bulk operation for ALL items in your store that match the filters (and not just the specific items in the list), click "Include all items matching your filters".
The message should now show "Includes all items matching your filters".
If you are happy with your selections, click the "Continue" button below.
You will see one final confirmation. When you are ready to start the bulk operation click the "Run Workflow Now" button.
Jobs
Each time you run a bulk operation it creates a "Job". You can view the progress of the job on the jobs page which will show you how many items have been processed, and how much data has been sent to Google Sheets.
The main workflows homepage will also show you that a bulk operation is currently running.
To cancel an actively running job, you can go back to the workflow's Bulk Operation tab and click "Cancel Job".
